If i didnt discover hiphop??? i think i’d still be a part of the music scene in malaysia…as what? i dont know and would never know coz hiphop is here when i was still a young’n and i believe its gonna stay here permanently. its a totally different answer if i didnt discover music though…i think i would be a designer, which is my 2nd passion…music and art keeps me alive (besides oxygen :-p).

 

Well, first of all, let me clear it that im not workin as that anymore…but when i joined the company, i had a vision of helping the local music scene and of course the hiphop scene grow bigger coz i know it will benefit myself and alotta my friends…and i wanted to do whatever i can do over there to help expose myself as an artist to the important people in the bussiness and also help expose the scene and artists in it to a bigger audience…i just wanna be one of the guys who is responsible in blowing up the scene in a certain way…coz nowadays, it seems like the so called ‘hiphop wannabes’ in malaysia only know soulja boy…hehe.

 

Simply coz the british band the kooks suddenly blew up again and i didnt want to have the same name…but i do like the kooks…theyre amazing…its just that i dont wanna have the same name…its still the same members with the same mentality…its just a new name…swagsta.

5. What is the next step forward in Malaysian Hip Hop? 

I see a lot of potential as there are more artists (shoutouts to the indie ones) coming up with new stuff, creative stuff and more importantly, good stuff…like new music and clothing line…so i think we need to be more bold in taking risks like these to get more exposure and make the scene more alive. i personally dont care what people wanna say like hiphop is dead or blah blah blah or yada yada yada and so on…its still alive and kickin…so dont go changing your wardrobe and buy skinny jeans yet…

 

It is…its something for men and women who dont know how to shuffle or cant fit into tight jeans to rely on…hahaha…no lah, to me its relevant coz its one way for a certain comunity in malaysia to express themselves without doing unhealthy things.
