Keep your love in Hip Hop. Many rappers and Hip Hop heads would perhaps live life in this genre till they age twilight. “pONco” perhaps believe the same. Yes he is not Malaysian but I do believe he has the talent but we know talent can only bring you so far. It takes a little bit more to inch that extra mile.

Hailed from Bogor, West Java this cat campaigns Hip Hop in a country where it’s society sees it is nothing more than music from the streets. Hip Hop has never made it big there (yet) but thanks to Malaysian’s Too Phat it burned the inner fire of many Hip Hop heads in Indonesia. That is what I believe that fulled pONco as well.

His first hit was with Putih Abu Abu which is a really radio friendly track and the chorus is really a sing a long. Sticks to your head that one. He has had a few tracks since then but somehow it has not hit the right chords. Perhaps with “Keep The Love” he might find the perfect note to hit off.

Personally I have no reserves for any good song to make it to local radios all the more those which are produced in the ASEAN region. But it is good to have some competition, plus local rappers will know at what level they are at compared to their friendly neighbours.

Overall the track is not that bad. Classic Hip-hop beat and sample sprinkled throughout the song. It is safe but in my humble opinion does not break new grounds in temrs of arrangement and engineering. However this is not the finished product…from what I know it is a rough mix so the final product might be different.
