Suit up the slick threads, lace up the spanking new kicks, crank up the beats….the Kuala Lumpur Hip Hop Festival 2008 is finally here! The festival we’ve all been aching for has reared its head, spinning unto our decks and rejuvenating our beat and rhyme hungry souls.
A symposium of the Who’s Who list in the Asian Hip Hop fraternity, the upcoming KL Hip Hop Fest 2008 promises to be THE showcase of the urban culture we’ve grown to know and love. Featuring a prominent array of Guest Artistes from amongst others the United States, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and our very own local homegrown beat masters and rhyme factories from Malaysia! Artiste Line-up such as Akil from Jurassic 5, Joe Flizzow from Kartelhitman, Phlowtron, Mc Samir, KLG Sqwad, 4Dub, Soul ID, Diplomats International ft Vandal, Tech1, Rudi Twisted and Ras Muhamad, Phatnatrix, and hosted by Altimet. End the night with a DJ set by DJ T-Bone.
The confirmed venue for this all new pumped out party will be at Modesto’s Sri Hartamas, featuring a combination of indoor and outdoor performance areas which will surely satisfy your musical cravings aight. The show will start at 12 noon and the party will be pumping until 2am.
Come and rock the Outdoor Stage till the early light, receive your official education in all things Hip Hop at the Culture and Music workshops and test your skills through the mini competitions we’ve got waiting for you. All the disciplines of the Hip Hop phenomenon such as Breakdancing (B-Boying), Turntablism and Rapping will be the order of the day. You can also experience the soul food of the very first Hip Hop Bazaar which will range the very newest of new streetwear to the most blinding Bling and Hip-Hop accessories. Not to forget the grassroots, workshop areas for budding rappers, Dj’s, graffiti artistes and breakdancers will be conducted by the performing local and international figures. For you Extreme sport fans out there, a skate ramp will be built for you to bust your moves throughout the day.
