Everyone is going around telling Google is being a prat. Then, RealRanks comes waltzing into the scene as a tiny hope to establish a solid ranking system. However, many has sworn over Alexa. It’s like soccer or football (depending which country you are from) league. The matches seem to go on and on…pretty endless.

Now we hear 100USD is being offered to remove just one paid post. Impressive and really crazy. But I guess Google has a reason for doing things the way it does. Honestly all of us seem to be clouded with the possible moolah that is to be gained from blog authoring. Which all of us has somewhat forgot what blogging essentially is. I have to admit, I have been only blogging actively for a year and the money is no doubt fairly good but sometimes I sit down feel rather guilty to whoever that reads my blogs. I feel like I have cheated them somewhat and fall into the tactics of what normally tabloids like The Sun (UK) normally uses just to inch for a bigger revenue.

Has blogging really boiled down to just about the money? I hear some “YES” and “NO”…. Of course each of us would like something out of it but I don’t think money should be numero uno. Now for this blog for instance I get about 300 - 500 unique visits per week. That is not a lot compared to the many more established ones….but the income is somewhat impressive for a blog not even a year old. On average its like 40 to 60 USD per month. Still tiny…but somehow I get loyal visitors. 70% are new visitors each time. But that boils down to the question….do rankings or rating reflect the true quality of a blog?

I suspect not. Just when Google started their page rank onslaught I simply did not give a hoot anymore. I just continued posting as I normally do and grab a few paid post here and there. The ads you see here contribute to only a tiny sum per day that I cant even buy a decent lunch. So if I were you we might just as well not be bothered with whatever rank that whoever wants to tag our blogs to. Just continue writing to the best of your ability according to the topics you like most.

Unlike some of us who has very commercial blogs named with words like money, geek, blogging, gadgets, network and the likes…I intend to keep this blog with a personal identity. Plus putting a name to a face certainly would make it more friendly doesn’t it? And yeah~ the pic you see in the right hand column is really me. Offer me 20 grand for this blog I would kindly turn it down….because my name will never be for sale. The gratification is always knowing that people read your articles and find some good use of it. Now I think that is the greatest reward of all.
